GlobalGolf trade-in: how it works and what it pays

Updated October 1, 2026 · By the ClubComps team

GlobalGolf gives you an instant trade-in quote for used clubs, then pays in store credit or a check once your clubs arrive and pass inspection. Here's exactly how it works, the condition rules that trip people up, and how its offers compare with selling yourself.

How it works

  1. Get a quote. Pick the club type, brand, model and condition. GlobalGolf prices it instantly using the Golf Blue Book.
  2. Choose credit or cash. Credit arrives as an eGiftCard within 24–48 hours of processing. Cash comes as a check, mailed 7–12 business days after processing.
  3. Ship within 5 days. GlobalGolf emails a prepaid label. Shipping is free if your trade is worth $149 or more; under that, $9.99 comes out of your payout.
  4. Inspection. Processing takes 5–7 business days after your box arrives.
If your clubs don't match the condition you pickedGlobalGolf cancels the original quote and emails a revised offer listing the differences. You can accept it or ask for the clubs back, so be honest when you choose the condition.

Condition rules

ClubRejected or downgraded for
Drivers, fairways, hybridsDents, dings, paint chips, pop-up (sky ball) marks, deep scratches, missing branding
Irons, wedges, puttersGouges, rust, chipped paint or chrome, heavy sole or groove wear, missing branding
ShaftsDents, bends, rust, heavy wear, broken or loose ferrules, damaged branding
All clubsMust be authentic, have a working grip, and be within 3 inches of standard length and 3° of standard lie

Iron sets lose value fast if they're incomplete

GlobalGolf values sets by consecutive matching clubs, all with the same heads, shafts and flex:

Clubs in the setShare of full set value
8100%
787.5%
675%
562.5%
4 or fewerNo value

If you've lost the 4-iron from a 4–PW set, that set is now worth 75% of a full one.

How GlobalGolf's offers compare

In a November 2025 MyGolfSpy test with the same used Ping G440 Max driver, GlobalGolf offered $280.80, tied for second place:

RetailerTrade-in offer
2nd Swing$294.94
Golf Galaxy$280.80
GlobalGolf$280.80
TaylorMade$280.50
DICK'S Sporting Goods$280.00
Worldwide GolfUp to $280
Callaway Golf Pre-Owned$250.00
Golf Avenue$225–$270
PGA TOUR Superstore$224.00

For comparison, used G440 drivers sold for a median of $372 on eBay in our data. If you charge the buyer $15 shipping, eBay's 13.6% fee plus $0.40 comes to about $53, and a label and box run about $18. That leaves you about $316. See our eBay fee guide for the math.

So on a current, popular driver, GlobalGolf paid about 89% of what you'd net selling it yourself, without photos, a listing, buyer questions or the risk of a return. On older clubs the gap is usually much bigger; see trade-in vs selling yourself.

When GlobalGolf's trade-in makes sense

It makes less sense for clubs with visible damage (they'll be downgraded or rejected) and for incomplete iron sets.
