Ping PLD Milled putters vs Ping 2023 and 2024 putters

Ping sells two putter lines with many of the same model names: the premium, fully milled PLD Milled line and the less expensive Ping 2023 and 2024 putters. Telling them apart matters, because a PLD Milled sells for well over $100 more used. Jump to used prices.

Ping 2023 and 2024 putters

Ping 2023 (released September 2022, $300): ten models including Anser, Anser 2D, DS72, DS72 C, Mundy, Kushin 4, Tomcat 14, Prime Tyne 4 and Tyne G. Made of 304 stainless or aluminum, with a shallow-milled face or a PEBAX insert.
Ping 2024 additions (May 2024, $229): Anser 2, Anser D, B60, Tyne H, Fetch and Ketsch G ($279), in raw blast or black PVD.

How to tell PLD Milled from a regular Ping

The face: PLD Milled faces (2022–2024) have deep, visible milling. Regular 2023 putters have shallow milling or an insert.
The finish: check it against the table above. A gunmetal Anser 2D, for example, points to the 2024 PLD.

Same names, different puttersAnser, Anser 2D, DS72 and Prime Tyne 4 exist in both lines. A listing that just says "Ping Anser" could be either, so ask for a clear photo of the face and the finish.

A PLD Milled that cost $485 new typically resells for around $285. That's a bigger drop in dollars than the regular line, but it still sells for about $120 more than a used Ping 2024.
