Scotty Cameron Newport 2: Select vs Special Select vs Super Select vs Studio Style

The Newport 2 is Scotty Cameron's best-known blade putter, and it's been made in several product lines. Here's how to tell them apart, what each sells for used, and how to avoid fakes. Jump to used prices.

Special Select (2020)

The 2020 Special Select Newport 2 is 303 stainless steel with a mid-milled face, a flatter and narrower topline, and a soft tri-sole. Tungsten sole weights vary by length (2 × 35 grams at 34 inches). Look for the three red dots and cherry-colored rings in the back cavity.

Super Select (2023)

Super Select arrived in March 2023. It kept 303 stainless steel but added a "dual-milled" face: a second pass of the mill flattens the milling peaks for a more consistent surface. The finish is silver mist, the three-dot cavity is unpainted, and the engravings are asphalt gray with cherry red accents on the sole.

Studio Style (2025)

Studio Style launched in March 2025 at $499. It uses a new Studio Carbon Steel and a chain-link face milling pattern that Scotty Cameron says removes about half the material the ball contacts. The chain-link face is the quickest way to identify it.

Fake Scotty Camerons are common In the sales we reviewed, several "brand new" Special Select and Super Select putters sold for $40–$150, far below the used price of real ones. That's a strong sign of counterfeits. Real Newport 2s rarely sell below about $175. Before buying, check that the sole weights, cavity details, and headcover match official photos, and buy from sellers with long feedback histories.
