TaylorMade M1 to M6 drivers: what they're worth today
TaylorMade's M-series drivers (M1 through M6, 2015 to 2019) are some of the most common used drivers on the market. Here's how to tell them apart and what each one actually sells for now. Jump to used prices.
Quick reference
| Driver | In stores | How to spot it | Launch price |

| M5 | February 2019 | Speed Injected Twist Face (two resin ports on the face); inverted-T sole track with two sliding weights | $549.99 |
| M6 | February 2019 | Speed Injected Twist Face; no sliding track; carbon sole with a fixed weight low and back | $499.99 |
| M3 | February 16, 2018 | Twist Face; Y-shaped sole track with two 11g sliding weights; wide Hammerhead slot | $500 |

| M1 (2017) | January 27, 2017 | Larger black carbon area on the crown than 2016; longer T-shaped sliding tracks; carbon toe panel on the sole | $500 |
| M2 (2017) | January 27, 2017 | No sliding weights; "sunken" recessed sole; marketed as Geocoustic (D-Type is draw-biased) | $400 |
| M1 (2016) | October 8, 2015 | Carbon and white crown; T-shaped sliding-weight tracks on the sole | $499 |
| M2 (2016) | February 19, 2016 | Carbon and white crown like the M1, but no weight tracks; fixed sole weight and Speed Pocket slot | $399 |
M1 vs M2: which is which?
Both have the carbon-and-white crown. The M1 has sliding weights on sole tracks and is aimed at better players. The M2 has no tracks and is more forgiving. To tell 2016 from 2017, look at the crown: the 2017 M1 has more black carbon, and the 2017 M2 has a recessed sole.
What used M-series drivers sell for
| Driver | Typical used price | Median | Listings in sample |
|---|---|---|---|
| M6 (2019) | $150–$181 | $165 | 18 |
| M5 (2019) | $87–$170 | $120 | 12 |
| M4 (2018) | $130–$171 | $150 | 25 |
| M3 (2018) | $120–$155 | $145 | 15 |
| All M2 drivers (2016 and 2017) | $140–$187 | $151 | 16 |
| All M1 drivers (2016 and 2017) | $100–$150 | $130 | 25 |
Most M-series drivers now sell for $120–$170, about a quarter to a third of their launch price. For comparison, a used 2025 Qi35 sells for about $281. The M5 range is wide because the sample is small and mixes heads in very different condition. Too few sales were clearly labeled 2016 or 2017 to price those years separately.
Getting the most when you sell
- Include the headcover and wrench. Buyers pay more for a complete driver, and a missing wrench is a common question.
- List the exact loft, shaft and flex. Many buyers search by shaft.
- Photograph the face and crown in daylight. Sky marks and face wear are what buyers look for first.
- Know what you'll keep. Our eBay fee guide shows the math, and trade-in vs selling covers when a trade-in is the better deal.
